Jane has an imaginary friend named Michael. Why? She is very lonely because her mother, Vivienne, is a successful Broadway producer who does not have much time for Jane. Michael is much older then Jane but this does not bother her because he is always there when she needs someone to talk with. The only day Jane's mother finds time to spend with her is on Sundays. They normally stop at the St. Regis Hotel where Jane eats an ice cream sundae and chats with Michael while her mother is busy discussing other things with a friend. Afterwards, Jane and Vivienne go to Tiffany's to look at jewelry.

There is a huge problem in store for Jane. What she does not realize is that when she turns nine, Michael must leave her and go on to other lonely children. The worst part is that she is not supposed to remember him at all.

Well, that is what is supposed to happen but Jane does remember Michael. One day, they meet again. Michael is no longer imaginary. Who is Michael? Is he an angel?

Michael and Jane begin to spend time together and realize they are really meant to be. Michael then starts to realize why he has been brought back into Jane's life. What is the reason? Do Michael and Jane end up with each other?

Many people might consider this story far-fetched. I say so what? This is a magical story that will keep the reader turning the pages. The plot is quite different compared to many of James Patterson's other books but it is a very entertaining read. By the way, haven't we all, as children, had an imaginary friend here or there? This is a love story that all romantics will thoroughly enjoy.
